− Public-health microbiology of invasive diseases caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria meningitidis. − Laboratory surveillance by determing antibiotic resistance, serotyping and molecular typing. − Determine the molecular basis of macrolide resistance by PCR for Streptococcus pneumoniae. − Study the clonality of isolates by PFGE. − Molecular (real-time) diagnostics of Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria meningitidis. − Molecular (real-time) and serologic diagnostics of Bordetella pertussis.
