Here you will find information about Research groups in the PathoGenoMics fields from the ERA-NET partner countries (Austria, Finland, France, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain).
This information is supposed to support cooperation between researchers from different European countries
and thus enhance the development of a European Research Area for PathoGenoMics .

The following information is available and can be searched for:

  • researcher names
  • Institution of the respective researcher, city and country of his/her institution
  • Contact data of the researcher (address, phone, email)

Research Topics:
The group” Sensing environment and community lifestyle of P. aeruginosa” is working on i) deciphering the complex regulatory network that controls the transition between planctonic lifestyle and biofilm lifestyle and particular the role of the two-component systems in helping this lifestyle transition and ii) identifying and characterizing from the molecular, genetic and functional point of view of the various molecular machineries involved in biofilm structuration of this microorganism. This is illustrated in two recent papers from the lab: Ruer S, Ball G, Filloux A, de Bentzmann S. The “P-usher”, a novel protein transporter involved in fimbrial assembly and TpsA secretion . 2008. EMBO Journal. Oct 22;27(20):2669- 80. Bernard CS, Bordi C, Termine E, Filloux A, de Bentzmann S. Organization and PprBdependent control of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa tad locus involved in Flp pilus biology. 2009. Journal of Bacteriology. In press.

Organisms studied:
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Special methods / technologies:
Molecular microbiology, genetics, TEM and confocal microscopies, various phenotypic tests, mutagenesis, transcriptome
